That reason is to think about doing a deeper analysis that shows us the symptoms we may have ignored or reveals problems we didn't even know how to look for. That analysis is the enneagram test.

Explain the concept and meaning of the enneagram test

What is Enneagram?

Enneagram, one of the most critical and famous personality sciences, allows any individual to smoothly determine their personality pattern. It provides health-level measures that help us detect symptoms that may indicate a significant problem and guide us in improving public health and safety.

This health condition is not related to the cholesterol levels in our bodies, for example, but is a comprehensive investigation of our emotional and mental state. Ashton Whit moyer-Ober, a psychologist and coach of Enneagram and author of The Enneagram for Relationships, explains that using Enneagram to talk about health is specific to each individual.

The question about health from the perspective of Enneagram is: “How do we live the way we were created to live?” and “How to get better?”

The importance of the enneagram test

Maintaining optimal health is not easy, so most people work only to the extent that they survive.

Uber says: “It is very challenging to present a perfect version of the kind you think you are because expectations of who we should be versus who we actually are and the restrictions that people impose on us to behave in a certain way make us believe that people will love us or accept us more if we hide parts of our truth.”

Enneagram can challenge and exhaust us, but the alternative means denying our identity. Does your health and happiness deteriorate and harm those around you? Or are you smoothly alive but want to become one who thrives even under pressure?

Enneagram Test

Take the enneagram test below to detect symptoms you may be ignoring and discover concrete ways to improve your health and the way you interact with the world around you:

The Nine Patterns of the Enneagram Personality Test

1. Enneagram, the first style "perfectionist"

  • Qualities: Honest, responsible, and disciplined.
  • Losers: Nothing is good enough for them. Perfection is their unwavering goal. They expect perfection from every person, system, and project they participate in. They make judgments quickly, and their need to be right is critical even if they don't win.
  • Ordinary people: They see mistakes as failure, but they do not obsess over their thinking, as they turn their need to improve the world around them into energy to fix things, whether it is fighting injustice or making sure others follow the rules.
  • Successful people: They realize that their method may not be the best or the only one. They value people who work differently from them, accept their imperfect environment, and appreciate it with open arms and good manners.
  • Symptoms: Harsh criticism of others.
  • Solution: Listen without providing solutions.

2. Enneagram, the second type of "assistant"

  • Qualities: Supportive, caring for others, and social.
  • Losers: They leave nothing to themselves. They give to the point of hurting themselves and then give more hope that the recipient will love or give them back. They do not know rejection and live in permanent resentment because of what they do to others.
  • Ordinary people: They seek to please others and reciprocate love and warm feelings, appearing healthy because of their ability to make those around them love them; their good intentions are based on a desperate attempt to gain the acceptance of others.
  • Successful people: They reward giving and charity but set firm limits on what can be shared or offered to others; when they need a break, they admit it humbly.
  • Symptoms:
  • Solution: Practice rejection.

3. Enneagram, the third type "accomplished"

  • Qualities: Ambitious, motivated, and diligent.
  • Failures: When success is at stake, they will do whatever it takes to avoid failure, even if it means interfering in the affairs of others or reducing time to achieve their goals faster, and their deep-rooted competitive qualities impose on them to avoid loss at all costs.
  • Ordinary people: They care about their image in front of others, so performance is a top priority. They can build their goals and achievements on the ground, but they need help separating their value from their success.
  • Successful people: They view achievements as an exciting challenge, but awards are not their goal; they are ambitious and energetic, help their teams cross the finish line, and show care for others through work.
  • Symptoms: Comparing yourself to others.
  • Solution: Do not concern yourself with achievements too much.

4. Enneagram, the fourth "unique" type

  • Qualities: Unique, sensitive, and innovative.
  • Losers: They spend an enormous amount of time bemoaning what happened to them. Their emotions collide as they recall their moments of weakness, and their relationships suffer because they constantly seek to gain the compassion of others by playing the role of the victim.
  • Ordinary people: They are obsessed with truth and tend to distinguish themselves from others through creative or bizarre methods. This self-exploration is usually an attempt to attract attention or admiration. However, others may describe them as moody, intimidating, or chaotic, taking criticism personally.
  • Successful people: Emotion plays a significant role in their lives, but they are honest with their feelings; they do not seek to refine them and allow them to influence their behaviors. They are wonderfully creative and impulsive, and they know how to remain loyal to their uniqueness without feeling guilty and ashamed.
  • Symptoms: Play the role of the victim.
  • Solution: Acknowledge the beauty inherent in ordinary things.

5. Enneagram, the fifth type of "thinker"

  • Qualities: Conservative, knowledgeable, and isolated.
  • Losers: Nothing is enough in their eyes, as they isolate themselves even from the closest people to them, attempting to maintain their activity and mental abilities that they think are limited and insufficient, which leads them to isolate themselves from others and launch cynical and critical attitudes.
  • Ordinary people: They do not care about emotional feelings because they rely heavily on logic. Their intelligence forces them to consider social situations constantly. If they think they may come across as ignorant, they will withdraw.
  • Successful people: They welcome new ideas and share them with others despite their wealth of knowledge. When they find themselves in need of energy conservation, they monitor the situation rather than isolating themselves.
  • Symptoms: Saving emotional or material resources.
  • Solution: Strengthen your social relationships.

6. Enneagram, the sixth type, "the faithful guardian" (the Savior)

  • Qualities: Loyal, intelligent, and ready.
  • Losers: Nowhere is safe for them. They are insecure about themselves and others, so they put a lot of trust in anyone with authority who can allay their fears, even if that person isn't worthy.
  • Ordinary people: Safety and security are top priorities, so they spend tremendous energy planning for the worst-case scenarios in their minds. While they present themselves as organized and problem-solving, the truth is that they use preparation to manage their anxiety.
  • Successful people: Their motto is “Everything will be fine,” and their productivity focuses on contributing to the common good; they are honest and reliable, and their ingenuity in discerning the worthiness of others makes the man an excellent judge of character.
  • Symptoms: Constant suspicion of others.
  • The solution: meditate.

7. Enneagram, the seventh "enthusiastic" type

  • Qualities: Adventurous, spontaneous, and optimistic.
  • Losers: Sitting without work hurts them, so they are excited to escape the calmness of their thoughts by moving from one joyful activity to another. They have a sense of incompetence, and they believe that their environment is incomplete, which makes them crave immediate pleasure and exposes them to reckless behavior or even addiction.
  • Ordinary people: They enjoy others with their lively behavior, but they do so to hide their sadness and insecurity behind pleasure. Although popularity distinguishes them, they find it very difficult to establish relationships with others.
  • Successful: Reconciled with themselves and their feelings, not seeking constant distraction, appreciating what they already have rather than looking for something new or someone else.
  • Symptoms: Not communicating with family or old friends.
  • Solution: Be present even if it hurts.

8. Enneagram, the eighth "authoritarian" type

  • Qualities: Bold, authoritarian, and cruel.
  • Losers: Those who have experienced injustice are almost guaranteed to seek retribution and leave destruction. If they don't feel in control, they may exhibit violent tendencies.
  • Ordinary people: Although they maintain their independence and tolerate even a little weakness, they turn their aggression into a "group leader" mentality, protect the vulnerable, and are willing to fight for what is right but demand obedience from their subordinates.
  • Successful people: Their assertive and bold nature makes them incomparable leaders. They heroically use their courage and maintain a strong presence wherever they are, but they have learned to temper their enthusiasm to allow cooperation and accommodate others' opinions.
  • Symptoms: Refusing to lose an argument.
  • Solution: I apologize very much and sincerely.

9. Enneagram, the ninth type, "peacemaker"

  • Qualities: Calm, harmonious, and friendly.
  • Failures: They may prefer to bury their heads in the sand rather than express their opinions. Because they find the conflict very difficult, they choose to distance themselves from the situation and give up their own desires, which may lead to unhealthy coping mechanisms and unbridled passive aggression.
  • Ordinary people: They give you the benefit of the doubt, are willing to stand up for what they believe in even when it means hurting other people, conform to group decisions, and can be very stubborn, but they hide their passion. All of these qualities make them seem like nice people.
  • Successful people: Mediation between people is their talent. They can take everyone's opinions into account, including their own. They are influential negotiators, can judge difficult situations skillfully, are not afraid to have their own opinions, and have a steady and calm presence.
  • Symptoms: Keeping up with the opinions of others.
  • Solution: Have your own opinion.

Final thoughts on the Enneagram Theory

Everyone has learned wrong behaviors and coping mechanisms that hinder their progress, but when the status quo is paying the price, it can be challenging to make the emotional effort that change requires; as Uber says: “I think people feel comfortable when things are in their best interest, so they do not feel the need to achieve anything better. Some people review me thinking that they are healthy, but I realize through difficult conversations that they have a lot of work to do.”

Sustainable public health and safety is a process, but it can greatly benefit our families, cultures, and societies, and what the Enneagram provides for this process is clarity. It is like a mirror; it reflects our strength if we rely on our truth, and it reflects the pitfalls and potential dangers that await us if we accept the situation of survival and reject our truth and what we offer to the world.

“I tell my customers to think about their lives now and what their lives will be like a year or five years from now if they do not do something because people often do not want to be in the exact same place,” Uber says.
