There are countless examples, but have you ever stopped to consider what might occur if you actually failed?
The following three hypothetical situations will be used to discuss failure.
Failure means that everything is over
The phrase "when you fail in something, you fail in your entire life" is used frequently by adults. It does not refer to a delusion that only occurs in the minds of teenagers.
If you lose your job, you might believe that your career is over. If you get poor grades on an exam, you might believe that your life is over. If you split up with your partner, you might believe that you will be alone for the rest of your life.
Not only that, but you'll also think that since you failed, everyone is accountable for it and must bear the cost. You might not realize it, but your belief that the world's problems revolve around you is merely a form of selfishness. Have you ever considered the possibility that you are only accountable for your own actions?
Since you won't succeed, the world won't end, and the human race won't become extinct. So, stop thinking that way.
Anything you fail at is irrelevant
Because all that has occurred is that you attempted to take some action and anticipated a particular outcome, but it did not materialize, you may prefer the possibility of nothing occurring to the previous scenario.
So, what outcome did you achieve? Nothing, you failed at your work, and some people told you that you are a failure. However, you don't give a damn what people think, you ignore what happened, and you try again. This doesn't mean that you should act foolishly and continue doing things the same way, though; instead, you should try to do it differently.
Using failure to create opportunity
In his book Mastery, author Robert Greene discusses the notion that people enjoy taking advantage of opportunities. He emphasizes that because our entire brain and nervous system are built to look for opportunities of any kind, we are skilled at spotting them in our environment and taking advantage of them.
You might think that there are times when opportunities or solutions cannot be found, but I can assure you that if you make someone do something, they will come up with creative solutions. Regardless of the outcome—failure or success—always seek out and seize opportunities. In other words, work to make any circumstance, no matter how dire, work in your favor.
As an illustration of how our ancestors invented hunting techniques, Green claims that "our very ancient ancestors had no prior idea of inventing hunting methods." However, they believed that with their short and feeble arms, they would be unable to hunt a large animal. Due to this need, the first spear was created by flinging a sharp rock at an animal while it was still alive, ultimately, either the invention or the need.
Regardless of the precise circumstances, the idea is that since humans have always been the species seeking a chance, you should take advantage of this trait to succeed as your ancestors did.
In summary, failure is not a disaster
The majority of us think failure is terrible. However, that is merely a mirage, and failure is ultimately nothing more than a result. Unless you want to spend the rest of your life feeling regret, you shouldn't let that setback stop you from trying again.
The best way to overcome your fear of failure is to learn to be resourceful, to constantly look for opportunities, and to try new things. As a result, the next time you fail or find yourself in a challenging situation, try to think of a way to turn things around
