Three simple words can free you from the regrets of the past and lead you towards a new, positive beginning, which are: “From now on.”
Rules for turning endings into new beginnings
Here are nine rules for turning endings into new beginnings:
1. Let go of things you can't control
Most things are not part of your life, but you keep thinking about them. Positive things happen when you distance yourself emotionally from negative things.
Stop holding on to what hurts you, make room for what feels right, and don't let what's out of your control get in the way of what you can control.
2. Accept reality
Life is simple, and everything happens for you, not to you. Everything happens at the right moment exactly, neither earlier nor later. Whenever you lose something, you gain something else, and whenever you gain something, you lose something else.
You don't have to like this fact, but it would be easier if you did. So, pay attention to your perception of life. You can either regret or rejoice, it is up to you.
3. Change your opinion
Change is like breathing. It is not a part of the process, as it is the process itself. The only certain thing in life is change. The first step toward positive change is to change your perception. So, be ready for positivity and everything new.
Let the unknown take you to new and unexpected places within yourself. Growth is impossible without change. If you cannot change your opinion, you cannot change anything in your life. Sometimes, all you need is to look at things from another perspective.

4. Hold on to the good things
Don't waste your precious energy attempting to climb out of a pit of despair and darkness when life's difficulties throw you there. Digging in the dark hastily will lead you in the wrong direction and cause you to fall deeper into the darkness.
Use your strength to bring something good with you instead. There is a light in goodness, a light that will show you the way and guide you to where you need to be.
5. Take a break and reorganize your matters
Power is not about enduring grief and shame; rather, it lies in choosing your path, bearing the consequences, and learning from them. Sometimes, you do your best, yet it doesn't work out, but you shouldn't be frustrated because you tried.
You did all you could do, and you did not fail. However, you have learned what not to do. So, sit back, reorganize, and start over using the knowledge you possess now.
6. Take chances
Making a big life change or trying something new can be scary, but what's even scarier is regret. So, be aware that most of your fears are much bigger in your head than they are. You will realize this by yourself once you face them.
Do not let them stop you. Live your life in a way that you never regret the opportunities you didn't take, the love you never let into your life, and the gifts you never gave.
7. Keep progressing
No one reaches the top of a mountain descending from the sky. Good things happen to those who work hard for them. You gain confidence and become stronger whenever you push yourself to do something you never thought possible.
If you were in the middle of doing something, unable or unwilling to turn back, yet too afraid to move on, remember that you can't enjoy the quality of your life without being prepared to move on.
8. Appreciate what you've learned
There is nothing more beautiful and stronger than smiling in times of sadness. Do not regret your time, even the moments of pure pain. Smile because you learned from them and gained the strength to overcome them.
After all, what you went through does not define you. How you overcame difficulties made you who you are today and can be tomorrow.
9. Be aware that every step is necessary
There is nothing completely wrong. We learn from every step we take. Whatever you did today was a necessary step to reach tomorrow, so be proud of yourself.
You may not be as good as you want to be or as great as you'll be one day, but thanks to the lessons you've learned, you're much better now than you were previously.
