A good morning routine is essential, but what about other times of the day? Don't they play an equally important role too?

For example, what do successful people do before bed? Of course, they don't spend their nights watching soap operas; they get ready to start a more productive day.

Things you should do in the evening to achieve success

Here are some things you do before bed that have been proven to increase success:

1. Moonlight Walking

Joel Gascoigne, CEO of Buffer, adopted a nighttime walking routine to relieve work pressure as he stopped thinking about work to overcome fatigue.

If you are busy or working, you can benefit from walking at night, so leave your phone at home and focus on relaxing ideas for a more productive day.

2. Stay away from electronics at night

Arianna Huffington recommends staying away from electronic devices before bed.

Once, she was unexpectedly transferred to the emergency department after losing consciousness from the intensity of exhaustion, and she got five stitches in her head, but she re-evaluated her life after that, refrained from using electronic devices before bed, and has enjoyed good health since then. You can avoid the pressure of work by doing the same thing, unplugging everything, and watching how stress decreases.

Researchers at Harvard University have found that staying away from electronic devices at night is a good way to sleep, as the bright light of a smartphone tricks our bodies and keeps us awake. On the other hand, getting rid of electronic devices leads to just the opposite.

Achieve Success

3. Healthy sleep

Healthy sleep is more than just making your bed. The National Sleep Foundation has established an intensive healthy sleep routine to ensure good sleep. The basics include a comfortable bed, pillows, a relatively cool room, and, most importantly, giving yourself at least an hour to relax before you fall asleep.

Set your priorities no matter how busy your schedule is, and avoid burnout by ensuring you have enough time to relax, as successful people always do.

4. Read before bed

Bill Gates has achieved great success by reading for one hour every night, no matter how busy he is.

Besides the obvious benefit of acquiring new knowledge, it's also a great way to calm down. One study found that reading for only six minutes reduced stress by 68%.

5. Prioritize

“A president's day starts from the day before,” said former President Obama in an interview with journalist Michael Lewis in Vanity Fair magazine. He spends his nights reviewing schedules and tasks for the next day, and you can avoid the morning workload by setting clear goals and priorities for tomorrow.

This way, you will reduce your anxiety and feel comfortable because you have planned your day.

6. Pause in the middle of your thought chain

Great writers don't look for the perfect ending to a chapter in a novel just before bed, and they boost their productivity by stopping to write right in the middle of an idea or sentence.

Writer Ernest Hemingway once said, “The best way is to always stop when you are comfortable and know what will happen next, and if you do it daily, you will never be confused.”

If you are doing something that needs creativity, this is a perfect way to form a pattern of success, so end things perfectly and never wrestle with new ideas before bed, and you will be surprised by new ideas when the alarm clock rings in the morning.

Be Happy

7. Learn a new skill

It may seem counterintuitive, but the best time to learn a new skill is after a long and hard day's work. Josh Waitzkin, author of The Art of Learning, recommends you learn new and complex concepts at the end of a tiring day because your subconscious mind processes that unique information during sleep.

All scientists, such as Salvador Dali and Albert Einstein, have used nap time to reinforce and learn new ideas, but even if you're not redefining physics, learn something new before bed.

8. Write down your worries on small sticky notes and get rid of them

When we go to sleep, we often think about the problems we faced that we did not find a solution to, and if there is anything that can deprive us of sleep at night and we do not know how to get rid of it, you can use this method. Brian Scudamore, CEO and founder of 1800-GOT-JUNK, wrote down his fears before bed on paper and got rid of them.

Science supports those strategies, and if you don't give them any importance, think again. Writing down our problems will reduce the vicious cycle of bad thoughts and relieve stress.
