Try to tell someone who is very challenged that they should reconsider their values, that no matter what happens, it will benefit their life, and see how they react; they are unlikely to agree and commit.

However, adversity is not only good because it adds uncertainty and surprise to our lives, which is the ingredient that makes life interesting, but it is also the best way for us to grow as human beings. Challenges make us stronger people.

Most people are not familiar with the concept of positivity and often underestimate it. It is unrealistic for them; they have programmed their entire lives to believe in “negativity.” The fact of the matter is that reality is what you want it to be. It can be a beautiful dream or a terrible and frightening nightmare.

Six ways you can follow to make your life more positive

1. Feed your mind positively

Depending on your past experiences and the current environment, you may have received significant unjustified negativity throughout your life: offense, threats, insults, and ridicule, which have greatly shaped your view of the world. To change the way you perceive the world, now is the time to do otherwise: feed your mind positively all day long. Anything will do if it can give you strength.

2. Eliminate negative people from your life

The greatest resistance you will face on your journey to a more positive life is the people around you who will try to hold you back. It can be difficult to cut ties with some people who may play a very important role in your life, such as friends or family members. But to make a big difference in your life, you need to make big changes. So you have to be intolerant of any kind of toxic negativity in your life.

3. Stop watching the news

People always follow this method just to stay up-to-date on world news, but do you necessarily have to know everything that's going on on this planet to "stay connected"?

Closing your ears and withdrawing from each negative situation is not right either; you should have a balance. For example, you might look at your financial situation with some kind of "negativity," and in this case, it is highly recommended to pay attention because not all negativity is toxic; it can be a good indication of something happening that needs to be resolved, as explained in the example above.

However, do you need to know that a 23-year-old girl has been beaten and killed in one country in the world? Of course not; this is information that contaminates your mind and fills it with negativity.

4. Focus on the right things

It is no wonder that many people experience high levels of stress and negativity when they spend so much time focusing on adverse events in their lives or the world.

Again, this does not mean that you should ignore challenges and negative events in your life. Negativity is not necessarily bad. It depends on how you use it. Sometimes what appears to be a negative event can just be a blessing that can change your entire life. So if you can keep your focus, your whole perception and beliefs about life will change.

5. Find the good in everything

If some people lose the ability to move parts of their bodies, lose their sight, or even their limbs, yet they can find a way to give positive meaning to their lives, why can't you?

We all can find the good in any situation, but few of us make that choice. So when faced with adversity, the first question that should always be asked is, “What is the great blessing I will get out of this?” No matter what happens, there are always two ways of looking at the situation. Either positively or negatively.

6. Change your beliefs

Our beliefs shape our reality, and if you think life is a gift and everything that happens to you is strategically put in place by the Lord so you can learn something valuable, can you see how your reaction will be very different from someone who thinks life is a struggle?

The best way to change beliefs is to question them over and over again: are they true? Are there any people who present living evidence that this belief is incorrect? Go back to as many references as possible to reinforce the notion that this belief is incorrect.
