Twelve months ago, I didn't know what to do until I listened to an interview with writer and author Bob Proctor about setting goals and changing habits. I realized that all it takes to make your development plan is to know your current situation and determine the goal you want to reach. Once you have completed this step, only start implementing and putting all your effort into achieving your goals.
3 ٍٍٍSteps to help you
1. Know your current situation
First, you should profoundly and sincerely evaluate your present situation. Are you content with how things are going financially? Are you happy with your career? What about your relationship with your friends and family?
These are just a few examples of aspects to pay attention to, and you may discover the things that interest you that differ from those described here. By evaluating these aspects, you will know your current status and things that need to be changed or improved.
I discovered through my evaluation that I was unsatisfied with my work and financial situation, and my health was not okay. That prompted me to leave my full-time job and work with my hobby and passion, which is video editing, and now I work in a field that I love and at a time that suits me. My income is more than when I worked from 9 am to 5 pm.
So, the first step towards success is clearly and transparently defining your current situation.
2. Define your goal
After you identify the areas you want to improve, set a clear goal you want to achieve in each area so that the extent of achievement can be smoothly measured, and then set a period to achieve it. Personally, it is better to be 6 to 12 months. This relatively short period urges you to work and helps you make tangible progress.
When you learn new things, make mistakes, and develop yourself, it will be easy for you to change your path. It can be hard to know the right goals and set them from the beginning, but generally, when you feel a mixture of enthusiasm and fear, you are on the right track. The feeling of enthusiasm stems from your work for what you love, and fear comes as an ambition-size result. A big goal will require a lot of effort and work.
I can still clearly recall how terrified I was when I quit my job to focus solely on editing the video, but I was also incredibly excited to start living my dreams. I also learned an effective technique that involves writing your goal on a small piece of paper and keeping it in your wallet or pocket so you can read it aloud several times daily. The goal becomes ingrained in the subconscious mind, which will work toward it without your knowledge. Repeating the target helps you focus and work to achieve it.
3. Develop a plan of action
Finally, establishing clear points of action enables you to alter your reality and learn what is required to reach your goal. You may not be aware of everything that must be done, but you at least know the fundamentals, and this is what you need right now; the rest will become clear as you work toward the goal.
Don't be afraid to try new things; some might work out, and some might not, but either way, you'll get closer to getting what you want. When I started my video editing work, I made many mistakes that later contributed significantly to my current experience. Don't wait for an ideal business plan or circumstances before starting; all you need to do is start.
In conclusion
Start by using these three steps to decide what you want to accomplish by the end of the year and what actions you should take to improve your life.
