Here are 7 things you should get rid of:

1. Reflecting on the sins of the past:

Feeling guilty and regretting the past will not help your present. Because of this feeling, you will not be able to enjoy your current life, whether it is about giving up something in your closet that you spent a lot of money on, or about a past relationship, or anything else.

You wasted your money, time, attention, and affection, so stop it now, let go of your sins, apologize, forgive, and choose to live a life free of guilt and regret.

2. Shopping to relieve pain:

How many times have you tried shopping to relieve your pain? Shopping therapy is an expensive way to relieve the pain of boredom, frustration, and sadness, and it only provides temporary relief. You cannot shop to get out of pain, and if you try, you will not succeed, but you will have a huge amount of debt, and this will lead to more pain, and then more shopping.

Replace that shopping with self-care. When you feel pain, your heart doesn’t want to go shopping, it just asks you to take care of it.

3. Self-affirmation through appearance:

We buy clothes not because we need more clothes, but because we want to feel a certain way, and to be seen in a certain way by others. We want to prove ourselves, and we want to feel smart, beautiful, and loved.

We always try to prove who we are through what we wear and what we accomplish, but the problem is that there is always more to prove, and in the end you may lose yourself as a result. If you have to prove yourself to the people you love, it’s not love, and if you’re struggling to prove yourself at work, you’re probably not in the right place.

If you don’t believe it, then stop seeking to get people’s view which pushes you to succeed for a while, and let them see you as you are, as only then you can be you.

4. Focusing on failures:

Failure gets a bad reputation, but it is nothing more than a stepping stone to success. Through failures we learn new ways and strategies to do things. You don’t have to feel sad or bad about your failure because if you fail, it means you’re trying. If you have to remember your failures, remember them with a smile, and use them to improve your life.

5. Regretting unfulfilled goals:

Giving up on goals and dreams may be the most challenging thing in your life. We change as our lives change, and things that seemed so important years ago may slowly fade away. Instead of blaming yourself for not achieving your old goals, focus on your new dreams. Set goals that express your current self.

In addition, make sure that your goals are really your own, not goals that others ask you to achieve. Let go of any goal that is not your own, and the difference you will make in the world when you start pursuing your dreams and goals will be very huge.

6. Believing whatever comes to mind:

Our thoughts can often burden us, but thoughts remain just thoughts, some are true and others are not. When we insist on believing everything we think, we stray from the truth. Questioning the truth of your thoughts will prevent you from overreacting to some situations, and help you let go of some things more easily. Once you realize that not all of your thoughts are correct, things will become much easier.

7. Meeting the aspirations and expectations of others:

Letting go of your need to meet other people’s expectations or to feel any emotion based on their judgments – good or bad – will help you trust yourself and allow you to love your life regardless of outside comments. You are not good or bad, or right or wrong because of what anyone else thinks. You cannot control what they think, and you do not have to change yourself for them.

When you stop carrying the weight of other people’s expectations and judgments, you will become closer to yourself and what matters to you, and when you let go of what other people think, you will gain the clarity and freedom to enjoy your life.
