What is meant by comfort zone?
A comfort zone is a psychological state in which a person feels safe. It satisfies our need for certainty, which is one of the six most powerful human needs. When we are in our comfort zone, we know what to expect and how to react. Also, we feel like we have some control over the situation, we feel like all of our immediate needs are met, and we feel at peace.
When we leave our comfort zone, we are no longer in a familiar and manageable situation. The brain does not create the pathways it needs to know how to respond. We may feel anxious and afraid, yet learning to leave our comfort zone is essential.
