Gratitude leads you to greatness. It allows you to feel that what you have is more than enough. Also, it can transform work into pleasures, chaos into order, and uncertainty into certainty. Moreover, it can make every day more serene and peaceful.

Note: This article is based on the work of Marc Chernoff, author of the blog (marcandangel.com), who tells us about his experience of following some of the laws of gratitude in his life.

Identifying your blessings is the simplest way to appreciate the good things in your life. It's crucial to acknowledge the positives you already have because anything you value and are grateful for will grow and strengthen in your life.

In our training sessions, when Angel (my wife and partner) and I talk to the trainees about the value of gratitude, we frequently get a "Yes, I know" response. But the reality is that most of us do not know this because in the rush of our busy lives, we tend to forget the majority of the basic laws of gratitude and subsequently lose sight of their positive effects entirely.

Therefore, Here is a Reminder of These Laws.

Basic Little Laws of Gratitude

1. The More You Are in a Gratitude State, the More You Will Attract More Positive Things into Your Life for Which You Will Be Grateful For

  • If you are grateful for what you already have, you will gain more.
  • If you concentrate on what you lack, you will never have enough.

2. Happiness Does Not Always Lead to Gratitude, But Being Grateful Will Always Make You Feel Happier

  • Truly appreciating a moment and expressing displeasure with it at the same time is almost impossible.
  • Being happy right now doesn't mean that you don't want more; rather, it indicates that you are grateful for what you already have and patient enough to wait for more.

3. Gratitude Promotes True Forgiveness, as You Can Sincerely Express Your Appreciation for the Experience

  • Crying or regretting a significant life lesson makes no sense.
  • Gratitude gives meaning to the past, tranquility to the present and a hopeful outlook on the future.

4. You Never Require More Than You Need at Any Time

  • It has been said that giving thanks is the highest form of prayer. Give thanks to the Lord for the blessings you already have rather than praying to "get" things.
  • When life presents you with every reason to be negative, try to find a good reason to be positive, as there is always something to be grateful for.

5. Gratitude Is All-Encompassing

  • Happiness comes from good days, and wisdom comes from bad days, and both are essential.
  • You must include everything in your gratitude because everything has helped you progress. This is especially true of your relationships, as there are no ordinary people in our lives and if you give them a chance, they all have valuable lessons to impart.

Basic Little Laws of Gratitude

6. What You Are Grateful for Now Changes

  • Since you can't predict the future, be grateful for everything you have right, as you might lose tomorrow what you have today.
  • Your blessings will gradually change as life changes each day.

7. A grateful Mind Does Not Underestimate Things

  • Gratitude separates what you truly deserve from what you believe you deserve.
  • The situation (or person) you underestimate today might end up being the only one you need tomorrow.

8. When You Express Your Gratitude, You Must Remember That The Highest Appreciation Is to Practice It Daily Rather Than Just Saying It

  • What really counts is not what you say, but how you put it into practice.
  • Show your gratitude rather than just expressing it, and keep your promises rather than just making them.

9. Giving Back Is Part of Gratitude

  • We hardly ever realize in the daily clamor that we receive more than we give and that gratitude is necessary for a rich life.
  • It is very easy to overvalue our achievements compared to what we owe to help others.

10. Gratitude, Not Grief, Is the Best Expression of Appreciation for the People and Situations You Have Lost

  • Just because something didn't last forever doesn't make it any less of the greatest gift imaginable.
  • Be grateful for the opportunity to experience something wonderful.

11. You Must Be Fully Present to Be Truly Grateful

  • Count all the blessings in your life, and begin with the breath you are currently taking.
  • We frequently forget that the greatest miracle isn't walking on water, but it's walking on this green earth, living deeply in the present moment, fully appreciating it, and experiencing the purpose of life.

12. The Possibility of Gratitude Is Doubled When Control Is Relinquished

  • Sometimes we put in so much effort trying to control every little detail of our lives that we don't appreciate or understand the more important problems and issues.
  • Learn to let go, relax a little, go where life sometimes leads you, try something new, and be brave. But above all, do your best and accept it, and let go of any unwarranted expectations so that you can truly experience the unexpected. Life's greatest joys are often unexpected opportunities and surprises.

In Conclusion

As I was completing this brief post, I remembered something my grandmother used to say when I was a child, “ More gratitude and fewer rules should guide our daily lives.” Honestly, this is my daily goal, so let's think every day how lucky we are. The more grateful we are for the blessings we have, the more blessings we receive in our lives.
