Many jobs have a work schedule of forty hours or more per week; from nine in the morning until five in the evening or even more, then short breaks, then return to work again; but an increasing number of jobs - especially after the coronavirus pandemic - take a different form of work and ask workers to find solutions to new challenges.

Whether you're a waiter in a restaurant, a warehouse supervisor, or an executive manager, the idea that a job is a natural and necessary part of life is rooted in our culture. Just think about people's perceptions of you if you're unemployed or not, or think about how many times they've told you that you need a job, or that nobody likes a job but we have to do it.

It is assumed that everyone needs work in order to achieve the goal they want, which makes it difficult for people to sacrifice much of their time for the job while they want to invest their time and energy in other things that suit their values.

There are also many people who work in areas they love; their values correspond with how they invest their time; but the important question here is:

How do you know what job is right for you?

According to the Harvard Business Review, from 2020 to 2021, the resignations of people aged 30-45 increased by 20% during the year, which also had the highest number of jobs in the history of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

For these people, resigning from their jobs was more important compared to the pros and cons of staying in their jobs. However, these decisions are not easy and can have significant effects on individuals, couples, and families, yet they still happen.

Emotional Safety and Work

If you work in a job with excellent paycheck, benefits, and a cooperative teamwork atmosphere, you may consider yourself a stable and accomplished person, and this may be true. It is easy to accept how much time you devote to doing a job that you are not passionate about if the pros of this job outweigh the cons for you.

Imagine now that you have the opportunity to invest your time and energy in a way that is consistent with your values and interests. The coronavirus pandemic has led a growing number of people to re-evaluate the pros and cons of the jobs they work in, and more of them have concluded that the pros of resigning and the cons of staying in their jobs are more important than the advantages of staying in their jobs and the disadvantages of resigning.

In conclusion

We need to check the way we spend our precious time and energy every now and then. Some people may work their whole lives with an honest smile, while others seek to live a life of luxury, and neither is wrong, but this simply raises questions about what you want to do with your time.
