Like any other skill, creativity is something you practice, develop, and hone over time. You probably don't know how to use your mind yet if you believe you're not creative because you weren't born with it.

Developing a creative mindset requires work and effort more than just luck. Also, it has less to do with inspiration.

5 Easy Steps to Tap into Your Inner Creative Energy Source

1. Allocating Time for Silence and Solitude

The issue is that life goes by so quickly that we frequently need more time to pause and consider what really matters. We miss out on opportunities for quiet time and solitude that could be very beneficial because we are constantly rushing and busy with our daily lives.

Therefore, making time for yourself each day is essential, as nowhere else but your mind can foster creativity. Also, you can listen to your thoughts and explore your innermost self by making time for solitude.

When you use your mind effectively, it can be your greatest asset. Therefore, give yourself a break, take a walk outdoors, spend some time by yourself, get rid of anything distracting you, don't be a prisoner to other people's happiness, disconnect from the outside world for a bit, and sit in silence. This is a great chance to refuel with increased energy and focus.

The first thing to remember is that your thoughts are the source of the sensations and emotions in your body. However, most people are unaware of this and waste a lot of time overthinking. This consequently causes tension, numbness, and persistent cramping in the body. Therefore, take a moment to stop thinking and concentrate all your awareness and attention on yourself and the energy within you only.

It's time to establish a connection with your body. Try conscious, deep breathing first, and pay attention to your breathing if you find this difficult. Feel your belly expand and contract with every breath in and out. This exercise is similar to practicing meditation, and you will feel more creative and energized when you return to your thoughts after gaining awareness of the bodily sensations.

3. Letting Go of the Past

Lack of attention to the present causes most people to lose their creativity. All they do is dwell on the past or worry endlessly about the future, but worrying won't help you at all. Perhaps you experienced heartbreaking relationships, lost your dream job, or had a disastrous attempt at something. However, dwelling on problems will not solve them, so move on. What happened is in the past and has nothing to do with the present.

It's time to move on from your past if you feel like it's weighing you down and influencing your decisions and mental state. This will result in improved mental health, increased creativity, and a positive mindset.

4. Avoiding Multitasking

Avoid multitasking. While multitasking may sometimes be necessary, you must give each task your full attention if you want to stimulate and maintain creativity. Make the most of your day by concentrating on a single task. Therefore, you should refrain from taking notes, checking your phone frequently, replying to emails, and opening multiple tabs at once.

Pick a task that will motivate you and your passion, will make a big difference in your life and career, and will be worth your time and effort. Then, try to enjoy yourself while working on it. Do not continually switch between different tasks; this will be your only focus. Give it everything you've got, plan your day as soon as you wake up, and set priorities. If multitasking is still necessary for you, schedule a specific time for it during your day.

5. Openness

Those who are receptive to new concepts, ideas, and experiences tend to be the most creative. According to research by Emory University neuroscientist Gregory Berns, creative thinkers create new connections in their brains that interact with preexisting ones because they expose their brains to new experiences.

Does this imply that rejecting new concepts and experiences prevents you from being creative? Absolutely not. It implies that you can achieve better outcomes by forming new habits. Therefore, try new things as a way to increase your creativity.

Don't always follow the same routine. Try switching up your commute to work, a new music genre, or striking up a conversation with a complete stranger for no apparent reason.

So, don't chase after people's approval and satisfaction because you are wasting your time and effort on it. Instead, try following these five steps to ignite your creative spark.
