Rayess stresses the need to highlight the tenets of an initiative's success, such as its vision, task, and goal, as well as the value of continuous changes and perseverance. This article will highlight the importance of taking the initiative when starting an endeavor, whether it's a big business or a charitable organization.
The Importance of Taking Initiative:
In his book "Shortcut for a Better Life", the writer Ziad Rayess mentions: Most large companies and important entities in the world started with a simple initiative and grew into huge empires spreading toward the horizon. This trajectory is also true of private businesses, charities, or humanitarian organizations. There are also, no doubt, many initiatives that were begun but were doomed to fail and died in infancy. The shared precipitating factor of the successes is “starting an initiative”.
It’s important to disseminate and emphasize the concept of “initiatives”, but we should do so while highlighting the main foundations of an initiative’s success and clarifying its vision, task, and goal. God’s favor will be the deciding factor. I must also stress that not every initiative will necessarily succeed. Starting over repeatedly, while making continuous changes as required, is the road to success. A lot of the success stories we see today are simply the results of numerous past failures. This path also applies to charity initiatives; for them to succeed, it’s important to consider all of the factors that contribute to success.
In the beginning, starting an “initiative” doesn’t require funding or opportunities as much as achievement, passion, and your own skills. There are many examples of this in recent history, as well as in the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). For example, when an impoverished community came before the Prophet, the Prophet was moved by their situation and encouraged his companions to be generous with them. One of the companions took the first step by being the first to donate, after which the other companions gave what they could. The donations came in one after another, and a lot of money was raised.
Whatever the available opportunities, we must not depend on others. Let us instead take the initiative ourselves and constantly seek out the foundations and rules of success.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, whether it be a large corporation or a nonprofit organization, taking the initiative is critical to the success of any endeavor. Individuals can create opportunities for themselves and contribute to their communities by making the first move and constantly seeking out the foundations and rules of success. So, let us take the initiative ourselves and work towards our goals with passion, skill, and determination.
