Some of you may have already taken or heard about the Myers-Briggs personality test, and you can try it on two different sites to get a more accurate result that you have taken the test. In the case of inconclusive results, choose the result that you feel best expresses you.

Personality types

Apart from that, we will highlight what the results can mean before you start convincing people. There are eight different results; you will receive four of them, and we will explain each result as follows:

1. Extrovert or Introvert

This result comes down to how relaxed and peaceful you feel. Sociable people may feel better after talking to another person or in a group setting, while introverts may feel energized after spending quality time with themselves. There may be a balance between the two, but it depends on what activates your mind.

2. Intuition or Sensing

This category deals with how you obtain information. The sensual is based on tangible results or essentials, which means you have to see them to believe them, and the intuitive is about a more curious approach that looks for new and different possibilities or meanings.

3. Thinking or Feeling

This is the thing we will focus on the most, and it deals with how we make decisions. As a rational person, this means that you focus on logic, numbers, and consistency, whereas an emotional person focuses on emotions and the people in a situation.

4. Judging or Perceiving

Flexible people like to live in the moment, find ways to be spontaneous, and leave options open, while strict ones like to plan more.

Persuasion Skills

Decision Making

We have now come to the point where we will direct the minds of others as we wish. The persuasion we will learn is centered on the way one makes decisions. Although we do not automatically know each person's personality type, we can initiate conversations or meetings in ways that help us better understand how one runs a business or decides on something.

This explanation may help you apply this to your daily interactions. When we discover that someone is more focused on results, logic, or numbers, we can actually start to use these when it comes to making decisions.

For example, suppose your boss is rational and you want a new computer monitor for your research, but you know the budget is tight. Instead of just ordering another monitor, highlight your performance and research that will increase the value of the company. Imagine the same situation, but your boss is emotional this time.

Instead of talking about numbers, we might refocus attention on who will benefit from your research and how this will lead to more people getting into the company and growing the community.

Another option for more persuasion is to address how they prefer to receive information. This can be more difficult given how difficult it is to know whether someone is intuitive or sensual. If you know or think you have a good idea, you can apply the same principles with a focus on tangible results or highlighting the potential of the situation.

In the same situation discussed earlier, we can convince an intuitive person more easily if we talk about infinite possibilities and the future progress of research. This easy tool can prove to be very effective.

In conclusion

This approach can be used for good or ill, but we encourage you to use this knowledge as a way to enhance your discussions and desires for better debate; much of what we have mentioned applies to different areas of life, and can enhance communication in all situations.
