Note: This article is by Evan Tarver, who talks about the 6 stages of achieving success.
When quoting some of the key terms in the definitions above, we can summarize belief as follows: the acceptance and belief in one's self. When you say that you “believe” in something, it means that you accept its existence and trust that you can continue to do so and trust in its ability.
Based on your complete belief in your ability to achieve success, you will go through a state of developing self-confidence that everyone goes through before they can achieve success. The development of a belief is broken down into six mental shifts referred to as the "stages you must go through before achieving success." Remember, your success can never be greater than your self-worth.
In this regard, you need to go through these six paradigm shifts. Your self-worth always exceeds your level of success. In this way, your self-worth drives you forward rather than hindering your development. However, regardless of your goal, you will always deal with the following six stages of thinking in order:
The impossibility stage: I can't do it.
- The infatuation stage: How wonderful they are to be able to do that.
- The dream stage: It would be great if I could do that.
- The vision stage: I have to try to do this.
- The determination stage: I will do it.
- The confidence stage: I've done it and can do it again.
As with the hierarchy of needs, it is impossible to cross one stage before passing the previous one. Therefore, to achieve the success you aspire to, you have to go through each stage systematically:

I can't do it
We have all gone through this “The stage of impossibility”, and it is always a painful beginning. For me, when I was first introduced to the field of entrepreneurship, it seemed like a distant lifestyle with no chance of me getting into it. It was as if businessmen were kings and you had to be born with these traits to build a business.
How can I even become an entrepreneur? Being on par with people like the businessman Larry Ellison is impossible. So, I said to myself, I am incapable of doing this, and what shaped my current stage was my mental outlook.
How wonderful they are to be able to do that
You should calm yourself down a bit. When you are motivated to achieve a goal, you can quickly overcome the "impossibility" stage. However, by believing that your "goal" cannot be done, you will realize that other people can do it.
When you move from the initial stage to the infatuation stage, you still think that you may be unable to do it, but you realize that others have succeeded. So I said to myself, "How amazing were the entrepreneurs I read about! Where did they get all that perseverance and drive to achieve this level of success?"
You can move on to the second stage through this way of thinking. Because you think that although you can't do it, others can. Therefore, you feel how wonderful their achievements are. The transition to the second stage is very important because you begin to believe that your goal is achievable at least by others if not by you.
It would be great if I could do that
By believing that at least someone can achieve your goal, you begin to move into the third stage of believing that it would be nice if you could do it too. This stage is referred to as the dream stage because you start dreaming about the possibility of achieving your goal, but you are still not completely convinced that your goal is achievable.
Now, you allow yourself to dream. As for before, dreaming of such a thing was equal to dreaming of owning dragons. It's fun, but obviously it's never going to happen. However for me, I got to this point by letting myself dream about the lifestyle I would live if I were a businessman. By dreaming, you start to realize that it's not as hard as you first thought.
I remember thinking, "I'm not eager to build the next (Salesforce) company. I just need a business lifestyle that will buy me time to travel." From this standpoint, which comes during the third stage or the dream stage, you define your goal and make it an achievable goal.
I have to try to do this
When you pass the dream stage and refine your goal, you begin to realize that you must try to achieve it. It's because you start to realize that other people are doing it, and then you start to wonder, Why shouldn’t I do it too?
After that, you begin to turn your dream into a vision, and it is not surprising that this stage is referred to as the "vision stage."
A dream is a goal without a deadline or a belief that it can be achieved. A vision is a dream with a plan. As you progress through this stage, you can begin to formulate a plan to achieve your new goal.
My vision began with my blog. I knew I wanted to build a successful business and prove to myself that I could stick through success and failure. Therefore, I bought (evantarver.com) and wrote about business and entrepreneurship.

There were two goals for this blog, which were to get familiar with it and to spark the idea that I could build a business. I started my blog plan with the aim of achieving the desired end result in a successful business. As we progress through this stage, it becomes clear that we have self-belief.
I will do it
This stage is known as the "resolution stage." When you move from stage four to stage five, you start putting your plan into action, and you will start to realize that the task is not easy. Then, you will remember the previous four stages and the impossibility of achieving your goal that turned into a fascination with it. Next, it became a dream, to turn into a vision and then into a plan, to realize that it is realistically possible.
After you reach this far in your journey of success, your self-belief becomes clear. You have passed stages of doubt and stagnation to become ready to work and achieve your goal. At this point, nothing, not even a lack of self-confidence, will derail you. This stage is interesting because it's hard to get tangible evidence that you'll achieve your goal, but you have this innate feeling that it's inevitable.
After I started my blog, I met the co-founder of a startup through my writings. We respected each other's goals, vision, and motives and decided to collaborate. After that, I expanded my plan to include our new project, and after we started, I was certain that we would succeed. I don't know why I felt that.
However, I knew that all my knowledge and everything I'd learned up to this point, combined with my determination to achieve my entrepreneurial goal and add my partner's business background and skills, would culminate in some amazing success.
I've done it and can do it again
The stage of self-belief is the last quantum leap. After going through it, you will remain in it for the rest of your life. Although its name gives you a hint of what will happen, as you pass a stage, you will gain more and more self-confidence, self-awareness, and self-belief, and when you reach the final stage, you will have great confidence in your abilities. As you will ensure that the harder you work, the more possibilities you will have.
This is the realization of your goal, which is achieving success.
If you can establish one successful company like I did, you will realize that you can establish ten more. It will take a lot of effort, you may even need to take a step back to the dream stage, but with your newfound confidence, you know that anything is possible.
As you move forward in your life, you must always follow this frame of reference. This way, your self-confidence will maintain your belief in yourself, which will push you to achieve any goal you want. Therefore, you should know what stage you are in on your journey, your current state of mind, and what you have found useful as you cross these stages of success.
