Breaking Free From Others’ Control
We often place limitations and barriers on our abilities in most cases in our lives, and these barriers are just an illusion.
This is because we can achieve any accomplishment in the world through strong determination, hard work, faith, and self-confidence.
You will encounter many people who discourage you and underestimate your determination and abilities to do anything in life. Unfortunately, when you are exposed to false and discouraging words enough times and lend them a receptive ear throughout your life, you will believe them. You may begin to doubt your ability to succeed in certain sectors or fields or even question your passion for your work and achievements. In such moments, you must ask yourself if the people around you know you more than you do.
This article tells a wonderful story about achieving any accomplishment in life if you stop listening to people who doubt your abilities and start embracing faith and self-confidence. There were two teenage boys, one named "Ravi," who was 12 years old, and the other named "Ammar," who was eight. They crossed their village while playing hide and seek on a hot Sunday afternoon and reached a dry well. It was Ravi's turn to hide while Ammar counted to ten.

As Ammar turned his back to start searching for his friend, he suddenly heard Ravi's scream. He ran towards the well to find Ravi lying at the bottom of the well, seriously injured, screaming loudly, and holding his ankle. This is where Ammar began screaming for help because he knew he couldn't help his friend alone. However, they were alone in the forest, and there was no one to assist them.
However, Ammar suddenly looked around and found a steel bucket and a sturdy rope near the well. Without wasting a second, he tied the rope around the steel bucket and lowered it down towards the bottom of the well.
Somehow, Ravi managed to grab hold of the steel bucket and then came the most challenging part of the rescue operation: an 8-year-old boy lifting another 12-year-old boy from a deep well that was approximately 15 meters deep. Here, we find that Ammar didn't waste a single second thinking about how to pull his friend out of the well or how to do it alone. There was only one thing on his mind: saving his friend.
Ammar harnessed all his strength to pull the rope, causing the bucket to move away from the bottom of the well slowly. He pulled the rope for a certain distance, then paused momentarily to take a deep breath. He then returned to tighten the rope again to lift his friend from the well. The weather was scorching hot that afternoon, causing Ammar to sweat profusely.
His hands had turned red, and his feet trembled throughout the ordeal. However, deep inside, he knew that nothing could make him release his grip on that rope. Finally, Ravi emerged from the well after Ammar had given his all to save him. Ammar had endured the most challenging 30 minutes of his life.
Both of them had suffered severe injuries and wounds, in addition to their extreme terror and fear, because they knew they would face severe scolding and reprimands when they returned home. However, things turned out to be the opposite of what they had imagined. Upon their arrival home, they explained everything that had happened to their families and the villagers.
Still, none of them were prepared to believe them. It was beyond anyone's belief that an 8-year-old, who couldn't even lift a bucket filled with water, could rescue a 12-year-old from a well that was approximately 15 meters deep.

Although everyone went to see the well and found the rope and bucket near it, none of the villagers were ready to believe them, except for one person named "Kareem." He was the oldest and wisest man in the village, known for never telling a lie.
So, when the villagers asked him how Ravi had come out of the well, he chuckled quietly and said, "They explained it and demonstrated it to us themselves. Ammar tied the rope around the bucket, lowered it into the well, and pulled his friend out." He paused for a moment and then continued, saying, "But the important question we should ask is: Why could an 8-year-old boy pull his 12-year-old friend out of a 15-meter deep well, rather than how he did it?
Ammar was able to pull Ravi and get him out of the well because there was no one besides Ammar telling him that he couldn't do it. He didn't even think for a moment about his inability to do it. He was alone, and all that occupied his mind was saving his injured friend.
Most of the time, we underestimate our abilities and capabilities and diminish their importance because we listen to the voices of others around us more than we listen to our inner voice. We care more about other's opinions than that of our own. However, on the day we start listening to our inner voice and genuinely believing in ourselves, everything in this world becomes achievable for us.
In Conclusion
You must have experienced a situation where you encountered a group of people who discouraged you and convinced you that the goal you wanted to achieve was impossible even before you began working on it. They might have been surprised by your decision and criticized it, especially if no one else had achieved that goal before. Therefore, you should approach life just like "Ammar," who surpassed all odds and external voices telling him he couldn't save his friend.
Then, you need to genuinely believe in yourself and avoid placing limits on your abilities without giving your best effort, and you'll transform into a person who cannot be defeated or stopped once you apply this advice.
