How to Develop Success Behaviors in 14 Days?

A few fundamental habits that most people must develop are what they need to live the prosperous life they desire.

You do not have to commit to dozens of new complex behaviors followed by successful people; you only need some of them. If you make a few basic behavioral modifications, you will be able to mobilize momentum and confidence and invest in yourself to master the best new behaviors.

Success is not achieved overnight; it is a gradual and slow process that is fruitful for those who persevere. The development of the first success behaviors requires two weeks and no more; you are not trying to turn your life upside down overnight, but your goal here will be to identify and adopt basic behaviors to build momentum that you can use later to complete the process yourself.

As success has no limit, you can continue to develop yourself and grow as much as you want. But this begins by cultivating success behaviors. Here are three basic behaviors to cultivate now.

Three key behaviors you need to develop

1. Focus on learning and creativity instead of entertainment and fun

You have a lot to learn on this journey. When I was an amateur blogger dreaming of becoming a famous writer, I thought that all I had to do was become a professional in the art of writing. Still, I am now a successful writer, and I am surprised by the number of skills I needed to acquire, from web design to email marketing, webinars, sales presentations, public speaking, relationship building, designing online courses, mastering scheduling programs, and many more. Therefore, the first behavior that must be adopted to achieve success on an international level is to focus on learning and creativity instead of entertainment and fun.

You can learn a large amount of information very quickly if you resolve to do so. For example, if you practice playing a musical instrument three times a week, you will need two years to master it, but if you train three times a day, you may become skilled in playing within a few weeks. You can achieve quick results such as those through intensive learning and creativity, making mistakes, and enhancing your abilities and confidence.

As long as you focus on entertainment and fun, you will not progress, and you will not be able to build the momentum necessary to break the psychological barriers that you have faced for years, perhaps. Of course, it is difficult to completely isolate yourself from distractions.

Big companies allocate entire sections of professionals who work to draw your attention to the company's product. With the actual impact of technology, social media, smartphones, and advertising, you may feel that you are in a theme park where every detail is designed to attract your attention and push you to spend money.

It is up to you not to let those things distract you; the most effective way I have personally found to deal with temptations is simply to imagine my life after reaching the end of my journey, when I travel the world and make money and spend my time however I want, which is more tempting than watching another video when I have to work.

2. Ask questions that force you to look at the situation very clearly

One common answer I get from readers is that they don't know how to start working toward a successful life. It is not easy to look clearly at your most important goals. You may be afraid of making the wrong decisions, be confused by analytics, or perhaps you have never known what you want to do and have been moving quickly between jobs and relationships available to you without a specific destination.

In this case, you need to ask yourself clear and frank questions about your life. I read an amazing article from investment expert Zak Slayback describing an exercise that requires twenty minutes to help you think very clearly when thinking about your most important goals. The exercise requires completing a set of phrases as follows:

  • I feel miserable when…
  • I'm afraid ...
  • I'm good, but I don't enjoy...
  • I can't imagine myself doing... every day of my life.
  • I don't understand why anyone would…
  • I do not like it.

Here are some answers you may find helpful:

I feel miserable when…

  • I'm forced to work with frustrated people who oblige me to do time-consuming tasks that produce no real value.
  • I have to listen to employers who are uninformed and can't drive.
  • I can't spend my time working on the things I want.
  • I'm forced to work long hours on things I hate.
  • I'm forced to stick to someone else's schedule.
  • I can't do things my way.

I'm afraid of...

  • Doing a job I hate.
  • Dealing with rude and mean people.
  • Facing difficult people.
  • Having to do tasks I don't want to work on.
  • Having to waste my time working on things I don't care about.

I'm good, but I don't enjoy...

  • Data entry
  • Empathizing with angry customers.
  • Dealing with crises caused by others.

I can't imagine myself... Every day of my life.

  • Working in a boring full-time job.
  • Doing unimportant work.
  • Doing data entry
  • Working with people I have no respect for.
  • Living in the same city.
  • Doing a job where someone else is controlling my career progression.
  • Telephone Sales
  • Traveling to and from my workplace for more than thirty minutes each day.

I don't understand why anyone would…

  • Doing a boring job frustrates them.
  • Working with rude and stupid people.
  • Not to travel around the world.
  • Lack of passive income.
  • Allowing someone else to control their professional success.
  • Satisfaction with the minimum elements of life can achieve great success.
  • Allow others to annoy and bully them.

I do not like …

  • Anything I can't control or make myself.
  • Executing instructions from people I don't trust.
  • Living by someone else's rules.

If you want to achieve great results, you should ask yourself difficult questions, be precise in your answers, leave no room for doubt and guesswork, and not allow yourself to remain in a state of uncertainty, where most people spend their entire lives. When you honestly answer these simple questions, you will add clarity to your outlook and thinking.

3. Sacrifice Wisely

We all have to sacrifice wisely, but we can choose what we will sacrifice. The choice is not whether you will sacrifice or not; it is inevitable, but you can choose what you will sacrifice, and that choice will affect the rest of your life. During my university life, there was a joke circulating where colleagues chose each other between sleep, friends, and high grades. You should have sacrificed one of them to have the remaining two; we all must sacrifice, but you must choose what you will sacrifice so that you do not suffer heavy losses.

Unfortunately, many people sacrifice the wrong things, such as their potential, their relationships, their health, or their future. Instead of moving away from toxic relationships, you find them clinging to them, and instead of working sincerely to achieve a great career, you find them satisfied with their jobs and their boring lives. You must sacrifice too, but choose your sacrifice wisely.

Years ago, I mentioned my dire situation to an acquaintance, and it was someone who didn't know me very well and could talk to me quite frankly, and didn't disappoint me when he gave his opinion, saying: "You must stop complaining and find a new job immediately, no matter what you have to do to get it, whether you cancel your social obligations or stay home during the weekends or wake up early every morning, what matters is that you get a new job."

After hearing that, I was angry and took a defensive stance at first. I wondered how he dared say those things to me without knowing me or the difficulties I was experiencing. This person was calling me to sacrifice something I did not want to give up; in the end, I realized the wisdom in what he said: I was sacrificing my happiness and psychological well-being in the job I used to work at the time, and he was proposing to sacrifice a few days of vacation and social meetings for something that might change my entire career. What I did in the end was not go out with my friends for a while and work hard until I found a new job.

Within a few weeks of working by focusing, forming relationships, and communicating with people from different departments, I was offered a job that was better than my previous job by far, required meeting new people and traveling, and most importantly, no longer had to make marketing calls. The same applies to you; you must sacrifice, inevitably, but you can choose what you will sacrifice.

In conclusion

Small choices lead to great results. When you start making the right decisions at a small level, you will see the results you want, not the other way around. It is time to start acting like a successful person who controls his time, relationships, money, and choices.

It begins with your behaviors when you start making the right decisions continuously. You can start doing so now; these behaviors will turn into permanent qualities in your life, and you will become a disciplined and positive person with high focus and clear vision, ability, and strength.

The difficulty lies in the beginning for many, as they do not know where to focus their time and energy, so they waste time when they should have started working on achieving their dreams a long time ago. Since they make foolish and unwise decisions on a small level, they reap great negative results in their lives.
