If You Are Having Difficulty Running Your Business, You Are on the Right Track, and Here Is Why?

It's expected that running a startup will be challenging. Here's how to deal with the numerous difficulties that most founders encounter.

It's common to hear from friends and coworkers that they enjoy taking on challenges, which makes sense given that, in the end, challenges promote growth and learning. The best course of action for you is to face challenges if you want to advance and grow.

Despite this, it frequently turns out that people are not as honest as they first appear to be. According to a 2018 study by Bravely, 53% of employees ignore hurtful situations, while 70% avoid complex conversations with their boss, coworkers, and line managers.

However, most employees avoid situations that make them uncomfortable and require real effort, which is completely understandable, even though many people take pride in facing adversity. On the other hand, however, valuable results frequently mean accepting those challenges. You are on the right track if you think that running a business is difficult and inconvenient, and here is why:

It's supposed to be hard

Even the simplest businesses have complex challenges, and if you don't think about your clients and your responsibilities, chances are no one else will. If you run a small business or watch your friends start theirs, you probably know that those who claim that running a business is easy are not telling the whole truth. All of these factors add up to a lot of pressure because you are the one who takes the initiative to grow and develop, and your choices have a real, noticeable impact.

The reason why the majority of people do not want to run their own businesses—and some of them shouldn't—is that if doing so results in easy money, who wouldn't start one on their own? Being a company entails not only accepting full responsibility for your actions but also posing a challenge to already established businesses. These qualities include creativity, strength, and a willingness to question the status quo.

Successful businesspeople face various difficulties, some of which are listed below. Examples include:

  1. PayPal, then known as X.com, his first product, was selected as one of the Ten Worst Business Ideas in 1999.
  2. He founded SpaceX, a space exploration technology company, but it could not launch its first two rockets.
  3. In 2008, both SpaceX and Tesla, of which he was the CEO and contributor, were on the verge of failure.

He even gave himself some of the blame for the difficulties he encountered at times. The Securities and Exchange Commission investigated him in 2018 over claims he made on Twitter that the funding he had obtained would take Tesla private, a move that caused shares to drop 20% in August of that year.

Comfort and fulfillment would result from evolution

The difficulties your business faces don't indicate that you're not intelligent enough to succeed or that you're a poor CEO; rather, they show that there is still room for you to grow and accomplish your goals.

We have always believed that we love challenges and enjoy taking them on, but as soon as we realize that this is not the case, we become unhappy and begin to fear that we won't be able to handle the situation.

From this point on, however, we start to feel satisfied because this is when we can start to reflect on how our thinking and decision-making have changed over the previous period as well as the effects that personal growth has had on the business.

You should be aware that facing a challenge is entirely different from facing a challenge that results in growth. Here are some pointers to help with that:

1. Accept that challenges are to be expected

Accepting the difficulties is the first step. When you face a challenge for the first time, you might feel defeated and believe that you lack the skills necessary for success. However, you must understand that entrepreneurs frequently experience challenges. This means that overcoming challenges does not automatically make you less capable than leaders or a failure.

2. Show patience

It is certainly convenient to expect a magical solution to materialize whenever you face a challenge, but this is not always the case. Instead, you should adopt a pragmatic approach rather than overreacting or acting in a counterproductive way.

To solve the issue, you must first identify the information you need, decide what you can test, choose who to speak with, and start from that point. This does not imply that you should be lazy or complacent, but rather that you give yourself the necessary time and space to do so.

3. Look for sources of strength

If you feel overwhelmed and unable to handle a situation alone, you should look for other options. Make a list of songs you can listen to during these times, such as those that inspire you to overcome challenges or are filled with uplifting messages that will help you face the days ahead.

You can also speak with people who support you, engage in activities you enjoy or want to try, or spend time outside.

The important thing is that you do what you can to face challenging times because this helps you approach problems creatively. You could call an old friend or take your parents to one of the recently opened green parks.
