How to Be self-aware in a Troubled World?

Nowadays, it is rather hard to stay connected to your loved ones and those around you, to have a big heart and a flaming brain.



Problems may come at us from all sides, whether on a global level or personal level. Therefore, you must admit to yourself that sometimes -no matter what you do- everything is pointless, and this in itself can make feel somehow impotent and distraught.

However, we must remember that we have an innate power in our hands, and this power doesn't derive from our actions. Rather, it comes from our awareness and perception of our dreams.

The power of perception

Think about our everyday dreams. We get emotionally attached to our dreams when we are asleep and unaware that we are dreaming. However, once you realize that you are in real life, everything will change in an instant. By being aware that you are dreaming, you may avoid being completely at the whim of your unconscious mind. When dreams are this clear, fear, worry, or irritation won't enter the picture, but instead, you'll be in charge of the situation.

How to become self-aware?

You can realize that you are in a dream not only in your sleep but also while you are awake. It is very simple actually because it is your natural state to be awake.

Here are some tips to become more awake:

  • Shift your awareness: Remove it from the feeling of terror associated with what is happening around you in the world, direct it to your mind and body, and be aware of the recurring incidents of injustice and betrayal in your life that are triggered by external events.
  • Pay attention to feelings of distress within you.
  • Recognize the feelings of distress.
  • Realize that these are abandonment issues: These are aspects of our personalities that are not perceived if we receive support, love, and emotions. These are present resources that exist in every moment of our reality. We can register these stories, thoughts, and emotions and at the same time, understand that we are not far from support, safety, and love. Abandonment is an obsession and an illusion.

When you realize that you are dreaming, you will have the strength to put back together the scattered pieces of your personality. This is the strength that mindfulness gives you in the moments of the present.

When you recall the story of a novel from your psychological interpretation of it, the parts of our characters that feel hopeless and helpless can become aware of the fact that the moments of the present in their depths are more harmonious, compatible, and vital when they are put together.

The secret behind it all is simply to realize that. Therefore, those who are completely desperate to find a solution or support - the recurring fantasies that haunt, captivate, and discourage us – can feel loved again through one simple action. Ironically, this doesn't necessarily require action, but rather, the power that mindfulness gives you.

What happens when you become conscious?

When we don’t spend our days overwhelmed with feelings of fear, anxiety, and injustice, and when we stop dreaming and focus on the present moment, we become more powerful. Also, when we stop constantly recalling the feelings of injustice and betrayal, we can control our illusions. However, there are safety and eternal love that constitute the present moment. You can directly feel them and nothing can take away these feelings of support. This is your solution.

But you may wonder: "What about the children? What about wars? What about etc?"

Look at yourself and observe: Is what’s happening your personal injustice? Can you monitor inner reality instead of focusing on the external one? And can you see what insisting on fear, injustice, and betrayal has given you? Do you know what your love and support system has given you?

How to become self-aware

Only when you are immersed in this love can you have daydreams associated with justice and harmony. Only the justice that lies deep within you can reflect the outer justice, and only inner coherence does show outer cohesion.

Letting go is not a sign of strength. The only thing that can reflect to us how important other people's lives are in our own cohesion, that children are safe, that education is necessary, that health care is cheap, available, and excellent, that we have endless resources, that we can feed and sustain the entire world, and that no one is better than the other, and more importantly that all human beings belong.

When you deeply believe in your right to eternal love, resources, and presence, you become a very powerful dreamer. You can turn the injustice that makes you feel destroyed into contentment, safety, and love. The real power to do this is within ourselves, not outside. The world is a dream and a mirror that reflects our chronic feeling of injustice.

You can steadfastly uphold your inequities and keep your dream as it is, or you can draw love and healing to become aware of your abundant inner resources.
