7 Benefits of Accepting Change
Change is a necessary aspect of life. The world around us and ourselves are constantly changing.
Note: This article is taken from the blog of "Atiba Shaikh," in which she tells us about her experience with the benefits of accepting change.
Some of these changes are acceptable to us, but others are not, so why is it difficult to accept change? How can you stop resisting changes in your life, embrace them, and move on? Can unwanted changes be invested to improve your life instead of frustrating and hindering your dreams?
I'll discuss some of the advantages of change, how unwelcome change can actually work to your advantage rather than against you, and how to deal with changes in your life so that they don't frustrate you or cause you problems.
Benefits of Accepting Change
1. Stay calm and positive from the inside
Imagine what would happen if you stopped resisting change and accepted it instead. You would become calmer, relaxed, and satisfied with your life. You would stop allowing external changes to affect your state of mind and start dealing with things more positively and calmly.
2. Ignore everything you can't control
Once you start accepting changes, you will eliminate negative energy, lose interest in life's things beyond your control, and stop feeling hopeless or let down. That will help you foster a calm and optimistic state of mind, live in the present, and feel good about yourself and your circumstances.
3. Self-discovery
The fact that someone else experiences a change similar to yours and is unaffected by it, possibly even feeling happy about it, is more unsettling than the change itself. That may cause you to feel bad about the other person or yourself, but it may also cause you to consider the source of your feelings more carefully. Knowing your reasons for accepting the change and your own resistance to it facilitates finding out more about yourself.

4. Get a chance to grow and improve
Consider changes as a chance to improve your experience rather than a source of frustration. Any new experience, even one that is unexpected or unwelcome, can always yield something new. This adjustment may advance you. You only need to find the benefit of change, even though it might not be directly related to your objective.
5. Get a chance to learn something new
You can see change as a novel experience that imparts new knowledge. You keep adapting to make ends meet when something unpleasant happens to you. Even though you might find the accompanying changes annoying, they teach you new things you were previously unaware of. That implies if you welcome change, you will gain more knowledge.
6. Finding new approaches to problem-solving
You begin looking for ways to make things work when you cannot accept change or the adjustments that come with it. You actually discover new ways to solve problems when you try different approaches to eliminating the change entirely from your life or at least lessening its annoying effects. Then, you can use the change to find new solutions to your problems.
7. Flexibility
One way that change can improve your abilities is through resilience. It goes without saying that if you can learn to adjust to life's unexpected changes, you'll become more adaptable. That adaptability will then show up in other aspects of your life, helping you to accomplish more and become more productive. You'll also learn to manage multiple tasks and handle life's various demands without exhaustion. Finally, you'll be able to handle your work more effectively and effortlessly.
In conclusion
To be clear, by no means am I saying that you should give up on change or anything else that gets in the way of your goals and advancement. Simply viewing changes through a pessimistic lens will only result in frustration and disappointment.
Instead, you should maintain a level head and focus on the positive aspects of change rather than only its drawbacks. Subsequently, you can apply the acquired knowledge and experience to attain your desired destination and further augment your current accomplishments.
