3 Key Elements to Achieve Happiness and Success According to a Clear Vision
One of the most important things you should strive to have in your life is a clear vision that enables you to define your goals and ambitions and the quality of life you want as if you are writing a book about an astonishing life story in all respects and with the best possibilities and potentials.
Note: This article is adapted from blogger Erin Falconer's experience building a clear vision for happiness and success.
if you can form it, all your actions will be in the direction that corresponds to achieving this vision and its related goals, starting from small and deliberate steps to achieving the big goal.
3 key Elements to Achieve Happiness and Success
1. Setting goals
You must establish your objectives; otherwise, you will find yourself moving haphazardly in response to the external factors in your environment. Nevertheless, you can choose what is best for you. Do not let anyone fulfill your role because they believe what your parents or friends think is suitable and appropriate for you.
The real meaning of the vision is to determine your goal and the path you will follow to reach it. Having a clear vision helps clarify the steps of work and the importance of each step, and you will have a powerful motivation to wake up in the morning. It is the source from which you will derive your energy to achieve what you want. It is said: "A clear vision is the reason for a person's success or failure."
Developing an actual and honest vision requires figuring out the true motivation behind pursuing a goal, such as happiness. As a result, whether you want to become a writer or launch a business, figuring out the motivation is crucial to success.
2. Self-consciousness
Self-awareness is the basis for defining the vision because you must recognize yourself and identify your values and strengths.
What ignites enthusiasm in you, and you want to spend time doing it? What career would you like to spend your life in? What are your dreams and ambitions? What work can you offer differently and distinctively?
You will certainly fail to build a clear vision from the first attempt. It is an ever-evolving process, and the most important thing at the beginning is to determine what you want and then start working without stopping too much at this stage because you will go through permanent changes with which your vision and goals change. The most important thing is to start with something simple and adjustable. That is better than waiting.
3. Pursuit of passion
The core question is: “Do we choose to work according to our passion or just for money?” Numerous people advised me to pursue a particular career because of the promising financial prospects, job security, and other features necessary for a fulfilling life from a traditional social perspective. I nevertheless sought a position that satisfied my passion and gave me a sense of vitality. I didn't want to sacrifice my humanity while working in a disliked career only to meet my needs.
I wanted to find a job that I enjoyed and would enable me to make enough income to meet my needs. I knew that the task was a little scary and challenging because it would often require doing unfamiliar things, and the path might be unclear, but when deciding, we must choose between money and passion.
I concur with author Joseph Campbell's advice to pursue pleasure rather than money because money cannot guarantee happiness. However, if you work in a field you are passionate about, you will be happy even if you do not make money.
Philosopher Alan Watts also says, “What is your desire? What makes you eager to work? I often ask these questions to students within the framework of my career guidance lessons. They have no idea or direction of what to do after graduation. I used to ask them about the things they like to do for free and hear answers from students who knew that it would not bring them money, but if money is a priority for them, they will work in a disliked field only to earn a living, which is wrong and a waste of time. A person should live a short and enjoyable life rather than a long and miserable life, and working well in a field you love will surely bring money over time and gain experience."
Working in a field that you love and makes you profit is possible, and all it requires is seriousness, mastery of work, and a strong will to succeed. The method and work steps are up to you, but it is worth noting three essential things to pay attention to when working in a field you love, mastering, and benefiting others.
In conclusion
Successful work is based on passion and is well-paying, and in the absence of one of these two things, it will seem either a hobby or suffering. I have added the third item, which is to be helpful to others to achieve a sense of satisfaction for you, but the most important thing is to know what you want in life and what you can do.
