Treat Others as You Would Like to Be Treated
In his book "Shortcut for a Better Life," Ziad Rayess emphasizes the importance of understanding the different approaches we can take when interacting with others.
He highlights three main sources of guidance for our behavior: religious teachings, government regulations, and cultural norms. Rayess also introduces four approaches to interpersonal interactions: treating others equally, being kind, abiding by the law of God, and treating people the way we want to be treated by God. However, Rayess contends that the most important aspect of interacting with others is building a better world through forgiveness, compassion, and obedience to the law of God.
Exploring the Three Pillars of Social Interaction:
In his book "Shortcut for a Better Life", the writer "Ziad Rayess" mentions: There are many concepts for how to interact with other members of society, governed by a set of rules, most importantly:
- Religious teachings and ideological concepts.
- Laws of the state.
- Customs, manners, and traditions.
Some have divided how we interact with people into four approaches:
- Equality: Treat everyone equally.
- Kindness: Treat others as you would like to be treated.
- Treat others as God commanded you to treat them.
- Treat others as you would like God to treat you.
I think that there is a large section of society for which the standard of dealing with other people has become the first rule: If he says, “Hi” to me, I’ll say , “Hi” back, and vice versa. If he invites me over, I’ll be happy, and vice versa. And if he cuts me off when he’s driving, I’ll do the same to him, and more, etc. There is another group that uses the second rule and tries to forgive others’ mistakes. They tend to respect and appreciate others more.
But the important truth that we must grasp lies in application of the divine task that God gave us: build a better world. This is achieved through the third and fourth rules, by forgiving and being compassionate. We must obey the commands of Almighty God by spreading peace, repairing harm, and treating our neighbors well. God has instructed us to do so. It is even better for us to use the fourth rule: you want God to give you wealth, so give others wealth. Treat others like you would want God to treat you. If you want God to forgive you, take care to implement the same principle with others.
We must always strive to take the initiative and develop ourselves. We must also help others in order to spread awareness and knowledge; dedicate ourselves to the concept of solidarity and doing good; cultivate values of honesty, trustworthiness, and loyalty; and engage in joint efforts, all in service of building a better world.
May God grant you success.
Conclusion:
At the end of the day, Ziad Rayess reminds us that the key to building a better world lies in how we interact with others. By following the laws of God, forgiving others, and showing compassion, we can have a positive influence on the world around us. It is important to strive for personal growth, help others, and collaborate to build a society based on principles such as honesty, reliability, and loyalty. As we seek to build a better world, may we remember the importance of treating others as we would want to be treated by God.
