As You Age: Three Tips You Need to Remind Yourself of
There is a child inside each of us who accompanies us as we grow older. This child needs care. Since they are unable to take care of themselves, they can influence our decisions as adults in a variety of ways.
Three tips that will help you take care of the child inside
1. Tell them everything will be fine
It's hard to believe when you're scared, or maybe angry with yourself and can't imagine a happy ending to what might seem like unsolvable problems, but it's true. So remember that nothing lasts forever; there will come a time when circumstances change, and one day you will be proud to have surpassed them. Believe in this.
2. Don't allow anything to rob you of your rebellious spirit
We have a rebellious spirit for a good reason, and it is a quality that will benefit you in your life in the decades to come. There are times when reining in is the best option, but there will be plenty of other times when your inclination to look for alternatives, to take a different path, or even just cause trouble is a much smarter option.
So, when in doubt about what to do, think and act as you see fit, resist empty laws and money-making institutions, and move on.
3. Don't worry about the things you're not good at
You may never learn math, and that's okay, and you may never learn mechanical skills, and it won't matter. The more you try to improve skills you don't care about but think you're supposed to be good at, the more frustrated you'll feel, because striving to be accepted in a field won't help you achieve anything you really want.
What matters is sticking to what you believe in, getting through difficult times and finding your way in life. If you focus on the skills you have and your ability to persevere, you will become much stronger, and this will be your guide that you can rely on to guide you whenever you lose your way.
