6 Ways to Add More Time to Your Day

Time management is what determines the difference between a successful person and a failed person. The common characteristic of all successful people is managing and organizing their time and scheduling their work constantly. If you find yourself needing more time, you may have to improve the way you work to manage your time in the best possible way.

In the following lines, we offer you some tips that will increase your productivity and improve your time management.

1. Start With Three Tasks:

Arrange your tasks according to their importance so that you know where to start your tasks and what the next task is. To start your day more effectively, choose the three most difficult tasks that you have to complete that day and focus on making these tasks finish before you look at the remaining tasks on your schedule.

2. Use the Calendar for Everything:

If you are one of the people who schedule their work and know exactly how much time each task will take, you only have to schedule these tasks during specific periods of time in your daily calendar. This will help you not to get distracted between tasks and will help you relieve the pressure on you when moving from one task to another; thus, you will successfully shift your focus between tasks.

3. Get Up Early:

This is not the preferred option for many, but there is no doubt that getting up early can do wonders in the way of improving your productivity. You don't have to get up in the middle of the night, that's not what I mean, but when you set the alarm an hour or even half an hour earlier each day, it gives you some time to get focused and get ready for the day ahead.

Even if during this time you read your emails while you sip your morning coffee, that's not wasted time I guess...is it?

4. Use a Specific Work System and Develop It:

Setting up a specific system that controls your business is a very important part of increasing productivity. What does it take for you to read emails, complete current tasks, and keep track of everything? This is why you need to have a specific system to control time and tasks, which will protect you from the accountability that you may face from your manager.

5. Close Your Facebook Account (and All Other Distractions):

One of the most obvious things is that you waste about 45 minutes a day on various social media. You have to know what are the weaknesses through which you waste your time daily to reduce them. Facebook or Twitter may be one of them, or it may be Internet games, TV or mobile phones.

Know what exactly is wasting your time and try to do these activities after you have completed the first three tasks that we mentioned in the first paragraph, and make sure that you specify a specific period of time for these activities.

6. Catch Your Breath:

Taking a break during work may be one of the best ways to increase productivity where you can go for a walk, read a book, or enjoy your time. When you return to work, you may be surprised at the amount of work you will accomplish after that break period. Taking a break is an excellent way to avoid exhaustion and fatigue.

Through these steps, you will have more time to complete additional tasks and will create the space for you to create the indispensable work-life balance so that you can continue to achieve success after another. You may need some time to learn how to manage your time more effectively, but in a short period of time you will find yourself using the same mechanism to manage your time outside work hours as well.
