5 Areas You Must Improve in Order to Live a Happy Life
We've all felt at some point that our lives are out of control. It's a strange feeling when you wake up in the morning and something seems to be wrong, but it's almost impossible to pinpoint what it is. You find yourself thinking about different possibilities, perhaps your relationships, your job, or the routine that has taken over your life is the problem.
And the more you think about it, the more confused you get. You have a good job, your life is going well, but something isn't quite right. You're not the only one, and this is a condition that everyone goes through. It seems that no matter how wonderful our life is and how much we love certain aspects of it, there is always something wrong with it.
Although you may follow your life plan to the letter and make achievements, you will not feel happy because you most likely did not define well the areas of your life that bring you happiness. This is the reason for the feeling that life is out of control when we are unable to identify and evaluate the important areas from which we derive happiness.
As human beings, we live on the line between worrying too much about the future and focusing too much on the present. We have to balance the two. On one hand, we must plan and advance our goals, and on the other hand, we must also love life as it is to feel happy every day.
In order to live each day with gratitude while still moving forward and working towards your goals in life, there is a method that anyone can apply to their life.
If you create a life plan that addresses each of these five areas, you will increase your happiness and at the same time achieve the success you want: save money, make friends, seek experiences, act healthy, advance in your areas of passion. After you set your goal in each of these areas and develop a plan to move forward in each of them, live your life.
1. Save money:
One of the most crucial components of a happy life is financial tranquility because it provides the base upon which the other components of your happiness can be built. When money worries are gone, life generally gets easier.
First, set a saving goal and then achieve this goal. But be careful, you must set a number commensurate with what you earn. It is unreasonable to decide to save $ 200,000 in a period of six months if you are making $ 36,000 annually. This will lead to failure and will cause unnecessary financial stress, but instead, take it easy on yourself.
For example, you might want to have enough cash over a 12-month period to invest that savings for retirement and other investments. So, if you're earning a total of $5,000 per month, you could divide it up so that your total expenses are $2.5,000 per month, your monthly entertainment allowance is $500, and a thousand dollars a month for retirement and other investments, with a tax deduction.
You don't need to worry about money as long as you can commit to these costs. The savings can then be distributed however you see fit. You can invest some of them in an investment, some in an emergency fund, and other things so that you don't have to worry about money.
You can even think further to make sure that you are going in the right direction. For example, you can decide to find additional work after achieving this goal in order to earn more money and be able to save a larger amount per month.
2. Make friends:
You may have noticed that when you are having a sad day, or whenever you feel a little down or depressed, it is most likely because you have not socialized with others, especially if you work from home. Although the schedule is convenient, you will miss the usual short chats in an office environment and other work-related activities in the same building with co-workers.
In this situation, making new friends and networking frequently are crucial. Having friends is more important than having money because we are social beings who require human interaction and communication. In light of this, this area may both be the greatest source of happiness and pain in your life, depending on how much attention you give it.
There are two ways to assess this aspect. First, think of your personality as the sum of the types of people you interact with. Therefore, one of your main goals should always be to raise this score as much as possible by seeking to interact with people who are better than you in one field or another, and this forces you to constantly develop yourself.
Secondly, making friends is easy and often takes nothing more than being at a social event. It's natural to meet fun and interesting people. So, no matter how tired you feel and want to stay home, set a goal to go out at least one day during the week and one day at the weekend and socialize with people. All you should aim for is a positive interaction.
Go out alone if you don't have any friends yet or if nobody you know wants to go out with you. You'll meet some of the coolest people there at those times, despite what may initially seem strange.
3. Seek to live experiences:
This field is a natural sequel to the previous one because making friends and having positive interactions with people is crucial, but the only way to do that is by experimenting, and the more experiences you have, the more wonderful people you will meet.
Think about it, if you want to interact with people who make an impression on you, it makes sense to engage in experiences that you find interesting. People who share the same interests as you will be looking for the same experiences.
But the issue is deeper than that. To be happy, we need to break out of our social comfort zones and the daily routines we engage in. When you become accustomed to a pattern, your insight becomes clouded, making it difficult to notice anything novel or interesting. However, when you forcibly break this routine by, say, moving to a new city, you are forced to be more aware of your surroundings and this alone increases your happiness because there is a new stimulus that arouses your senses.
Then, as you seek to go through more and more experiences, you will learn more things that in turn allow you to pursue more experiences that you will like. Keeping your mind active by going through fun and interesting things, especially things that you have not done before, is a sure way to increase your happiness.
For evaluation, train yourself to crave new experiences to seek them out constantly. For example, always look for cool things to do and try to make sure you do something new at least once a week.
4. Act healthy:
Health is divided into physical and mental health, and each affects the other.
The first step is to act as a psychologically healthy person, and even if you are having a very bad day, make sure to smile even outwardly. Of course, this does not mean that you cannot reveal your feelings to your friends and family, but it does mean that you should act cheerful when the grocer asks you about your day, and this is very important for your happiness, even if you have to pretend to be happy until you feel it. In the end, by trying to act that you are in full mental health, you will become so.
And then the mental health that you gained will give you the determination to exercise physically, or the opposite may happen, so physical exercises improve your mental health, or perhaps both together. Regardless, forcing yourself to take care of your mental and physical health stimulates your body to pump happiness hormones. Feel free to read articles on this topic but you can also easily give it a try for yourself by practicing outside and observing how you feel after.
Healthy behavior is our way of making our bodies happy. Exercising at least three days a week in any way that suits you and forcing yourself to act as if you are at the top of your mental health every day is just as important as anything else in life.
5. Advance in your areas of passion:
Passion is the motivator that drives us to action and the main source of your happiness. A person who lacks passion lacks a goal, and we all need a goal that makes us feel that life is worth it.
A passion can be anything. It could be doing yoga, computer programming, or writing a blog, even if no one reads it. Passion is the physical reflection of your unique happiness, and it is the stimulus that wakes you up in the morning and keeps you up late at night thinking of endless possibilities.
Let’s define passion in order to know what it means to us. Webster defines passion as “a strong, almost uncontrollable emotion.” According to Elizabeth Gilbert, author of (Eat, Pray, and Love), passion is the thing that allows you to live life and ask for more.
Passion is the culmination of your happiness because it gives you meaning. In order to take advantage of a specific passion, treat it like a job, and schedule the passion in your calendar as if it were a business meeting to work on every day. If you haven't found your passion yet, set aside time each day to search for it within yourself. Also, look at the aforementioned four areas, by improving each of them, you will find what suits you, and in the end you will find your passion.
In conclusion:
Life is life, it is not something to be understood, but a fact to be lived. So, look at each of the aforementioned five areas of happiness and make a plan to tackle each of them day by day, then stop worrying and enjoy the life you have. Happiness is something that must be achieved, and it is something that you have within you, all you have to do is find it.
